From Data to Power -- Via a summary by Jack Vinson, this piece draws a hierarchy of Data, Information, Knowledge, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Power, which I generally buy into, although while some forms of power can result from the progression, the acquisition and wielding of power does not necessarily require wisdom if based in physical might or in flawed paradigms. Of course I suppose that intelligence and wisdom in some area, such as rhetoric and human behavior, could overwhelm the lack in other areas.
