For Readers -- Yesterday, I sat in on one of Hal Macomber and Greg Howell's Conversations with Authors. The topic was Embracing Uncertainty: The Essence of Leadership, by Philip Clampitt and Bob DeKoch. A free (except for long distance charges) teleconference, we spent an hour and a quarter with the authors exploring the nature of organizational responses to uncertainty, what the costs of denying its existence might be, how to grow opportunities by "embracing" it at the leadership level, and ideas for bringing an organization's performers to accept and deal with it. A well-spent 75 minutes. The monthly series will continue for a while, and will include Dave Anderson of Agile Management fame (at least around these pages) in April and Jim Womack of Lean Thinking in May, among others. You'll want to get on the registration list if you think you'll want to participate.
