It was (just about) 20 Years Ago Today --
My first personal computer, $2,495 (1984 dollars). That doesn't count the money I later sunk into it to upgrade to a 512K ram "Fat Mac" and later to a full 1000K "Mac Plus." (I've never had the heart to add it up.) Forgetting about inflation, that price tag can almost get you 2 of these today.
And by the way, if you're a Mac user with a .mac subscription up for renewal, you can get a better deal at Amazon than from Apple.
